 Q:    I've been on birth control for 3 years. I've gained about 40 pounds. Now that I am off the birth control, I'm still big. How long will it take for me to lose the weight?

 A:    If you burn 500 more calories than you eat a day, for the next 40 weeks, you will lose the 40 pounds. This will take attention to what you eat, how much you exercise and staying consistent. This is not and easy task and we know that 40 weeks sounds like a long time, but what will you be 40 weeks from now if you don't start today?  
 
 Q:    I love chips! I don't know how to stop myself pleas help me contole my craving.

 A:    You are the only one that can control your craving. You will find that control when you decide there is something out there, like better health or better body, that you want more than those chips.  
 
 Q:    how can u lose 5 pounds in one day?

 A:    You can't. If you did, the mojority of that weight loss would be water weight.  
 
 Q:    My problem began when I started a diet combined with exercise program my aim was to bulk up because i was very scrawny .. after a hardwork of weight lifting and eating more calories than my body burns off I achieved my goal BUT .... my cherubic face has gone! I got chubby cheeks now that was terrible annoyed me very much I stopped training & eating I lost weight even in my face but not like before I want to burn my facial fat is that possible my friends told me return to the gym lift weights+aerobic and concentrate only on protein foods to build muscle and lose fat ... does it work this way? Please help me words of wisdom would be great - very special thanks

 A:    Your friends are right and wrong. Right in that you should get back in the gym. Wrong in that you need to simply concentrate on eating protein and doing cardio.

The project you embarked on is one that will take years. The last time you tried this, you achieved the size you wanted, but not in the body composition you desired. It's important to know that the average man, in a well designed strength training program and well designed dietary program, can put one pound of muscle on a month. It is a slow and gruling process that needs constant attention to detail. There are no short cuts, outside of using illegal steroids. This should not be and option.

Find yourself a good trainer to set up a program for you. Make sure you ask them for their certifications, and interview some of the clients they have helped in the past and present. You are turning over one of the most precious things you have to this trainer, your body. Make sure they know what they are doing!


Be prepared for the simple fact that this is a long term project that requires a lot of hard work. If it wasn't, everyone you see in the gym, on a regular basis, would look fantastic.
 
 
 Q:    I have hypothyroidism and it seems to be impossible to lose weight, do you have a different suggestion for those who have hypothyroidism trying to loose weight?

 A:    Having hypothyroidism slows your basil metabolic rate and does make it real hard to lose weight. This is something you should work on closely with your doctor.
