Q & A with fatburn.com's Experts

Q:    If you don't eat out much, what is the best way to caluculate the nutritional values of everything you eat? I love to cook and even eat a lot of plain foods, and I'm not seeing the nutritional values for basic things like eggs, chicken breast, steak etc. I couldn't tell you how many carbs are in a serving of chicken casserole. Please help!
Asked By P. Bucaro
A:    fatburn.com contains over 18,000 foods in its database and there are listings for eggs, chicken, beef and a few casseroles.

Q:    I have been entering data for the last 3 days but have only received feedback once. Should I be hearing something on a daily basis?

A:    Please send a "Contact Us" message if you would like to receive daily emails.

Q:    I would like to know if working out with a sauna suit on will help shed off some extra pounds. And is it true that the more you sweat you're more likely to lose weight.
Asked By sandy
A:    No and no. However, sweating is good for you as it is your body's natural cooling system and probably indicates you are working hard. Be sure to drink plenty of water while you exercise.

Q:    I'm looking to find something to help push me that extra mile while working out, and i"m wondering if Hydroxycut is a bad idea? from what I understand it is ephedra-free.
Asked By sandy
A:    Read the Health & Nutrition article entitled, "Using Supplements for Weight Loss;" we don't recommend it. Be leery of sports drinks; they are often filled with empty calories and were designed for athletes at the end of their rope who need an extra push. In other words, the calories you burn will be wasted if you instantly replace them with the calories in an "Energy drink." Instead try mentally pushing yourself by creating new challenges. If you normally run for 30 minutes, try to run 35 and then 40. Or find a workout partner who has similar goals and challenge each other. We hope this helps. Please let us know how you are doing.

Q:    Hi, I just joined your site and I have two questions for you. Does it matter if I work out early in the day? I usually find that I am motivated more if I exercise earlier when I wake up than when I wait until after work...I just don't want to do anything but relax after a long day....and plus I just get caught up in other stuff. My other question is...Should I exercise every day? I thought I heard somewhere that you should let your body rest on some days and so I just need to be clear on this. Thank you so much in advance and kudos for such a great site...It really gave me the inspiration and the kick in the butt that I needed to just go ahead and get these extra pounds off!
Asked By Sharon
A:    We are thrilled you are using fatburn.com and look forward to hearing your success story! It does not matter what time you work out, just that you do it! It is a good idea to "rest" 1-2 days per week. Just make sure you balance out NOT working out with eating less so that you reach your caloric burn goal for the day. You can also do a "light" work out on your off days such as walking or going for a leisurely bike ride or rollar blade. Good luck!
