 A:    Your caloric intake and exercise level depends on you! Join fatburn.com, enter your height, weight, gender, etc. and find out your basal metabolic rate (how many calories you burn every day just by being you) and fatburn.com will tell you how many more calories you need to burn by exercising in order to reach your goal.  Q:    Can I eat as much low fat food as I want and still lose weight?

 A:    No. To lose one pound a week, you need to burn 3500 calories MORE than you consume. Period. Check out the articles, "What is a calorie?" for more information.  
 
 Q:    I eat thai food (ex: basil chicken, tofu with chili paste, etc) about once a week. I have been entering it as chinese food because I want to get in an estimate of the oils and other additives that the restaurants cook with. However, I recently read that thai food is generally cooked with less oils, etc. Could you add some more options to the database or give me some ideas on how to accurately enter these things? thanks! This is a wonderful site (although a bit addictive!)

Although fatburn.com's food database contains more foods than any other (over 18,000 and growing) we recognize that it doesn't allow for every possible item. We do add foods as the information becomes available and are working hard to bring you as many choices as possible, including ethnic foods. When you cook at home, read the labels and if nutritional info is provided, click "Add Your Own Food" and enter it into fatburn.com We review all food items entered and if appropriate, we will add it to our database.  
 
 Q:    On the Pizza section, you have 1 slice of Pizza as 140 cals. 3 g fat, etc....does this count as 1 slice of a pie like from a Pizzeria???

 A:    One SMALL slice with no toppings and thin crust.  
 
 Q:    I'm a 61-year-old female. My BMI is 23.6, and I would like to lose 10 lbs which would bring the BMI down to 21.9. At my age, though, I don't want weight loss to make me look even older than I am. It seems like older females usually seem to lose too much in the face, which makes them look very old. I know that you cannot lose weight in just one portion of your body. However, I need to lose in the abs, stomach area. My question is: What makes an old person look so terrible in the face when they lose weight?

 A:    You cannot lose weight in one portion of the body so when you lose fat, it is lost from everywhere, including the face. When you lose fat in your face, the lines and wrinkles that were filled in with fatty tissue tend to sag.
