Hi, I have lost 21 pounds so far! and im proud of myself for that, but i still need to loose 55 pounds. And it seems as if the weight is becoming harder to get off now. I took a week off from the gym so i dont go bonkers with working out. i was wondering, is there anything that can continue to motivate me to work out as hard as i have in the past? Also, i know that a steady weightloss is much more healthy then a rapid one, but im getting a little bogged down that i havent lost as much as i would have liked to by now, please help me try to stay motivated, so that i can go out and wear my bikini for march break and feel good about it..thanks so much |

Monika- congratulations! Our best advice would be to vary your workout schedule. Get out of the gym! Go for a run or a walk. Take up an active sport like tennis, swimming, mountain biking, rollerblading, or full contact rugby. Need a little motivation? Take out those old pictures of you 21 pounds heavier. Put on those clothes that you used to wear and now fit loosely. Unfortunately, no one can motivate you but YOU. You were responsible for your weight gain and you are responsible for losing it. You are doing a great. Look at all of the before and after pictures on the site. That can be you! fatburn.com clients stay motivated by seeing every day that they are in a calorie deficit. By the end of the week, without stepping on a scale, they know they have lost weight. The only question is how much. Our system fully tracks your progress by letting you know exactly how many calories you are eating, how many you are burning and what your net burn is for the day. Every 3500 calories you burn more than you eat you will lose one pound of body fat. Try fatburn.com for a month. If you consistently burn more than 500 calories more than you eat a day, for a month and don't lose four pounds we will refund your $7.99. How can you beat that? When looking at our success stories, read what they have to say. You will see that our system is easy, honest and the only way to lose weight and keep it off. Why? Because, in the end you, you will learn how your body works and how to eat the foods you like inside a formula that works. Good luck and see you online! |

I recently started to do a in home workout that works my ab area, arms, and back. I'm attempting to lose between 5-10 lbs. in a month or so, will this be possible? I have a small frame(5'2") and I can actually see wear my muscle tone should be, but I am a college student and don't always have the chance to eat they way I should, but I have cut out potatoes, fried foods, and bread. Is this a good thing to do? However, my other problem is I don't know of anything that will burn fat off of my inner thighs. I also read it is better to workout every 48 hours in order to see better results is this true?

Jay, It's great that you started working out to aid you in your goal of losing 5-10 pounds. Give yourself a pat on the back because it's a step in the direction towards achieving total health. However, if you really want to see tone in your abs, arms, back and inner thighs the workouts you are doing won't be enough. Without eating right you'll just end up with great muscles that you will never see beneath the layer of body fat that's already there. There is no such thing as spot training fat from any area of the body. The only way to eliminate the body fat is by using it as an energy source. The only way to do that is to be in a calorie deficit. Body fat has three purposes. It forms soft cushions around the organs, protects the body from the environment and provides you with a long term energy source. Your job in losing weight is to tap into that long term energy source on a daily basis. You can lose 5-10 pounds in a month if you stick to the following plan daily. You will have to burn a minimum of 750-1250 calories more than you eat each day. If you burn a minimum of 750 calories more than you eat each day for a month you will lose 5 pounds. If you burn 1250 more calories than you eat each day for a month you will lose 10 pounds. It's that simple. We developed fatburn.com to easily track all this information for you. The Meals Page makes it simple for you to find out how many calories you're consuming. We have over 17,000 foods in our database (and growing!). You can save the meals you eat most often and the Favorites Tab stores the last 100 foods you choose from the database. All this makes determining your caloric totals quick and easy. The Activities Page combines your daily metabolic rate with your exercise and quickly calculates your total caloric burn. The key to our system, and your weight loss, is the Summary Page. This is where you find out if you achieved your daily goal of 750-1250 calories burned (more than you ate). While working towards the 750-1250 (more calories burned than you eat) you should know two important things. You should never eat fewer than three balanced meals a day and never drop below 1000 calories consumed a day. If you do, you run the chance of slowing down your metabolism. As far as eliminating fried foods, it's a great idea. They have a ton of calories and little nutritional value. But, you should still eat whole grain breads and potatoes that are in there original form. Never top either one with high calorie spreads. Working out every 48 hours is only applicable to strength training. This recovery period gives the muscle time to recover and repair itself. You can and should do aerobic training daily (with one day of rest a week) and try to do an hour each time. This will increase your caloric burn quickly. You're a college student and this is a great time to learn how your body works. Once you use fatburn.com you will always be in control of your body. |

Hi, I know that this site is for help with exercising and eating properly. But, i have tried exercising for such a long time, and it hasn't done as much for me as it should due to medical reasons. Lauren, you're right. We at fatburn.com will always strive to teach you a healthy, natural way to lose the weight you desire. We are not medical professionals and cannot address the medical reasons why you aren't losing weight. We recommend that you see your doctor to address those specific issues. We can, however, give you the low down on Xenical. All of the following information is easily found from a variety of sources. Xenical is a weight loss medication that attempts to limit the absorption of fat in your body rather than by suppressing your appetite. It has been shown to be effective for 1-2 years. It works by inhibiting dietary fats from being absorbed, allowing about 30% of the fat that you consume to pass through the gut undigested. The idea is that this helps you to reduce and maintain your weight, as well as to minimize any weight regain. There are a number of published side effects that can occur by taking Xenical. First, this medicine can cause changes in your bowel habits, such as fatty or oily stools, due to the elimination of undigested fat. Also, Xenical reduces the absorption of supplements of some fat soluble nutrients, particularly beta-carotene and vitamin E. Because of this it's important to follow your doctor's advice in eating a well balanced diet rich in fruit and vegetables. Allergies to Xenical or chronic malabsorption syndromes such as sprue or steatorrhea can occur. Xenical is not intended to be used by children or pregnant/nursing women. These are some of the basics on Xenical. Ask yourself these simple questions. Will you take Xenical for the rest of your life? What will happen when you stop? Do you really want to experience "oily stools" or "malabsorption syndrome"? At fatburn.com, we believe that the safest, most effective way to lose weight is by combining a healthy diet with exercise- not by taking a pill. We believe that most people gain weight because they do not realize how many calories they are consuming and how many they are burning on a daily basis. Weight gain and weight loss occur over time, not over night. For every 3,500 calories that you consume more than you burn, you will gain one pound. For every 3,500 calories you burn more than you consume you will lose one pound. Sign up for fatburn.com and we will show you how to control your daily caloric burn in order to lose weight. Look at all of the before and after pictures on the site. These people used fatburn.com to lose weight, not a pill. They watched what they ate and exercised. We are confident that our system will work for you- or we will refund your money. Give it a try. You can pay $7.99 for one month and cancel any time. |

Chloe, barring hypothyroidism (a condition in which the amount of thyroid hormones in the body is below normal causing a slow down in your metabolism) our basic formula of eating a minimum of three balanced meals a day while consuming at least 500 fewer calories than you burn daily is tried and true. If you are consistent with this formula, you will lose weight. We at fatburn.com are not doctors. We're not in the practice of giving out medical advice. We think your pro-active step of making an appointment with a specialist/doctor is a move in the right direction. However, for your benefit we have listed some of the more popular prescription diet pills on the market below - notice that the side effects can be quite severe.
